Let's show a little bit of love for our hardworking students! 💚🌎
Mr. Michna’s kindergarten class celebrated Earth Day by collecting garbage from around the school. They collected one big bag of garbage! 💪
👍 Thank you!

Thank you to Prevea Health Care for your ongoing investment in our community!
We are approaching the 10 year anniversary of a very unique Oostburg Clinic partnership which started through the hard work and creative thinking of Gordy Veldboom and Prevea CEO, Dr. Ashok Rai.
Oostburg Schools became the third clinic partner, allowing Oostburg to once again have a medical facility in our village. Prevea continues to invest in Oostburg, and we are proud to have the Prevea name as part of our new addition!

👷🏼 First graders became word builders! 👷🏼
In rug clubs, they worked together to build words using different word parts - vowels, consonants, blends and digraphs, and endings.
Way to go, word builders! ❤️

Recently, HS and MS students went on a wonderful field trip to the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.
They were so wonderful with our students - welcoming and accommodating. First, our students were given a personalized tour, then they received help as they worked through a ceramics workshop, and finally they made space for our students and staff to eat lunch. ❤️
Our students were engaged and it was definitely an enriching experience for them! Thank you, Kohler Arts Center! #BoostTheOost

We are grateful that Mr. Mike Ansay, President of the B. Bruce Krier Foundation, was able to join us for our March 19th building dedication!
Mr. Krier and Mr. Ansay were close friends since childhood, so it was particularly fitting to have Mike cut the ribbon for our new Performing Arts Center.
We are honored to have our PAC named after someone who continues to leave a positive legacy at OSD through annual scholarships, grant support, and now the naming of our theater. #BoostTheOost

Example #937 of how learning and community building at OES span across grade levels! ❤️📖
Our 5th graders authored, illustrated, and read children's books to our kindergarten students last week.
Nice work, 5th graders! ☺️ #BoostTheOost

It was extra special to have OSD class of '72 alum, Harlan TenPas and his wife Sandy joining us for the dedication of our building project. ❣️
The TenPas’ gift honored Mr. Herb Kohler along with OHS teachers Larry Navis, John Kobelsky, and Kathy Schroeder. Their gift provided primary funding to complete our school store, The Shoe Box.
Thank you! #BoostTheOost

Second semester in Art 3D means all clay, all the time!
For this particular project titled Monumental Tiles, students were asked to choose a monument or landmark from around the world and sculpt it in low relief.
To sculpt in low relief is to carve/take away material in the smallest increments possible to still create a 3-dimensional object. Both students here are working on a singular piece of clay- no building required!
Crystal is working on the Blue Dome Church in Santorini, Greece and Nathan is working on the Tokyo Tower in Tokyo, Japan. Look at that focus!
