Good morning, Parents.
Last spring, we worked with the Sheboygan County Crime Stoppers organization and the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department to put the Quick $50 program in place for our high school and middle school. We were open to the idea of the Quick $50 program simply because it provided another step we can take to make our schools as safe as possible.
The Quick $50 program is really very simple. If any student, any person really, becomes aware of drugs, alcohol, or weapons at school, and reports it to either their school principal (Sherri Stengel at the middle school or Scott Greupink at the high school) or calls 877-CUF-THEM (877-283-8436), and the drugs, alcohol, or weapon are confiscated, the reporting person will be discretely given $50 cash. The funds to pay for tips come from the fundraising efforts of the Sheboygan County Crime Stoppers organization but are paid out by the principals. Students who provide the tips will have their identities protected and they will remain completely anonymous. The only people who will ever know about the tip and pay out are the student involved and their parents because both Mrs. Stengel and I will call the parents to inform them of the situation and pay out. The Sheriff’s department will also keep the names of students providing tips completely anonymous.
We will be sharing this information with our students next week through posters at school and the announcements, but we wanted to provide parents the information in advance. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 920-564-2383 x. 4218. If you have time to talk to your children and emphasize the importance of reporting dangerous or unlawful behaviors to help keep our schools safe, that would also be very much appreciated.
