Homecoming Week at OHS.

Good morning, Parents.

It is Homecoming week at Oostburg High School.  A week full of fun activities for students including dress up days, homeroom contests, evening events, and culminating on Friday with the Homecoming Parade, Pep Rally and the Homecoming Football game against Random Lake.  The week of celebrations concludes on Saturday night with the Homecoming dance.  We hope our students enjoy the week to the fullest, but we would also like parents to assist us by reminding your students that all of these celebrations happen around the classroom, not in the classroom.  Please remind your high school aged children that while they enjoy the Homecoming festivities, they also have to do their jobs as students as well.  Our faculty will be teaching lessons each day, and until lunch time on Friday, with the expectation that learning will continue as normal all week.  Sometimes students get so focused on the excitement of Homecoming week, they forget about the school side of things.  We will certainly remind them as teachers, and we would appreciate your support as parents in this area as well.

On Friday, the first three blocks before lunch should be pretty normal.  Students should not be leaving school before 10:30.  You can see from the schedule below that after lunch, many students become involved in preparing for the parade and pep rally, but those who are not involved in Band, Dance, Student Council, or Court are still assigned to their Block 4 classes.

Friday’s Schedule:

Block 1: 7:25-8:25

Block 2: 8:30-9:25

Block 3: 9:30-10:27

Lunch and HR as normal

Block #4: 11:27-12:15 (Band and Dance released during the block as well as people involved with the parade, court, and pep rally.)
