End of the year events update.

Good morning, Parents.

Understandably, we have started to get some questions about end of the year events, especially those involving our graduates, so we would like to share our plans so that your families can make plans as well.  Our desire in making decisions about these events is to hold them if it is possible to do so in a safe manner that includes proper masking and social distancing.  Our plan is to hold our Commencement Ceremony outside on our football field.   We feel we will have plenty of room for our graduates, their parents and siblings, and their grandparents on and inside the track while still being able to distance properly.  We will also allow additional guests around the outside of the facility for others who wish to attend.  We are also planning to move the Commencement Ceremony up from Sunday, June 6th to Saturday, June 5th so that we can use the original date as a rain date if the weather is bad on Saturday.  If both days would present us with bad weather, we would be forced to have a graduates and parents only Commencement Ceremony in the MS gym on Sunday.  Let’s hope that is not the case.

We have cancelled the Senior Banquet which was scheduled to be on Friday, May 28th.  We simply do not think that this event can be done safely.  We are planning to hold the Senior Fry/Picnic on Thursday, June 3rd in the afternoon.  And, we are still in the planning stages of what we think will be a seniors only scholarship program of some sort that will be connected to Commencement practice on Friday, June 4th in the morning.

Please make special note of the fact that our Commencement Ceremony has been moved up one day to Saturday, June 5th at 3:00 pm on the football field.  Again, this will allow us to use Sunday as a rain date if necessary.
