Earlier this year, Ms. Harder’s 2D Art students and 8th grade Art students participated in The Memory Project. The Memory Project is a charitable nonprofit organization that invites art teachers and their students to create portraits for youth around the world. Oostburg middle and high school students used their talents to provide meaningful pieces of personal history for children in Colombia living in poverty. These art pieces made them feel valued and important, knowing that many people care about their well-being and take time to think about them. The Flying Dutch Media News Crew put out this segment about the project last month.
Ms. Harder was told that, “because of your financial contributions we were able to make a collective donation of $5,300 to support the children’s feeding and early education programs.”
(Here is a video of the children dancing Salsa and Cumbia as a thank you as well!)
