On behalf of OES students and staff, we’d like to thank the PTO for putting on yet another amazing Fun Fair. The numbers are in, and the PTO raised over 13,000 for our schools. These funds are used to support student learning in a variety of ways, and we are so grateful that our schools have opportunities to expand what our students have access to because of the hard work of this group. Special thanks to the following individuals who had a major role in the planning and preparation for this event: Fun Fair Coordinator- Robin Dirkse; Food – Regina Hartman; Games – Julie Parish; Prize Booth- Michelle Arnold; Decorations – Tammy Brusse and Lori Taylor; Auction/baskets – Laura Hoffmann, Nicole Hendrikse, Jenn Swart. In addition, there were 95 teacher and parent volunteers, 36 people who baked goods for the cakewalk, and 9 committee members for a total of 140 people who were directly involved in making this happen. Please join me in thanking the PTO committee and all those involved for their hard work. Not only did they raise a ton of money, the event is probably the favorite event of the year for our students.
Thank you for contributing to our American Heart Association drive this month. It is looking like I might be kissing a pig after all. We are not too far away from reaching our goal of $4,000! Students have increased awareness this month about how to stay healthy and active. Thank you to Ashley Holzer and Steve Herzog for their work with students this month and for helping with the organization of this important cause.
Please save the date for Celebration of the Arts, Tuesday, March 24 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Students have been working hard to show you their gifts and talents through art and music. Keep looking for more information as we get closer to the celebration date.
Have a great weekend!
