Welcome to ’16-’17 School Year

I would like to welcome our families to the 2016-2017 school year. The energy which accompanies having students back in the building at the start of a school year is something that never grows old. Even though I am entering my 28th year in education, the start of school continues to bring a mix of nerves and excitement as we embrace our mission to ensure high levels of learning for all students as we work to grow positive and productive members of society.

Our “Growing Together” theme embodies our continuing desire to be a school where adult and student learning mirror one another. There are many adjectives I could use to describe our staff – talented, caring, dedicated – all fit, but “learners” may be one of the most appropriate descriptors. As a staff we want to learn with you as we partner in providing students with a world class education.

“Growing Together” is particularly relevant this year as our elementary school building project is moving into high gear this week. We would like to once again thank our community for their support of this project. We are looking forward to the completion of phase I by the end of March with overall project completion set for November of 2017. Please check out the referendum tab on our website for detailed information, including architectural renderings, for our project.

As we consider the year ahead it is our desire to provide a positive learning environment where families feel welcome and included in the learning experiences of their children. We invite you to become involved – in PTO, OCEF, Parent’s Music Club, or simply by supporting your children during our various events throughout the year. Thank you for entrusting us with the responsibility of serving your children.
