Hopefully our families are aware of the upcoming showing of the movie Screenagers taking place on February 20th in the OHS Auditorium. Screenagers is a documentary exploring the impact that tech / screen time has on kids’ development. Participants will walk away with practical solutions and resources on how to empower kids to best navigate the digital world. You can check out a preview at https://vimeo.com/145826333, and we ask that parents interested in joining us please register at https://impactflow.com/event/presented-by-oostburg-school-district-1448. Free child care will be provided along with popcorn and refreshments. Our student services and IT departments have put a lot of time into organizing and promoting this event, and we certainly hope you will be able to join us. The showing will take place starting at 6:00pm in our HS auditorium.
As the father of two teenage daughters I recognize first hand the challenges presented by the pervasive nature of our children’s digital world. I am looking forward to learning more about navigating this area with my daughters. Please feel free to [easy-tweet tweet=”Check out latest OSD Blog post about the movie @screenagerMovie – showing Feb 20 @oostburgschools”]contact me or Bryce DeRoos if you have any questions regarding this opportunity.
Enjoy this day,
