This past weekend our fall sports season officially came to a close with Sectional Final contests for our soccer guys and volleyball girls. Our girls cross country team finished 4th at the state meet after qualifying for the 3rd year in a row! It was easy to get behind each of these teams, along with our playoff qualifying football team, partly due to their success, yet it was the overall character and growth of the teams which stood out. Each group represented our school and community with class, making the victories even more special.
In addition to athletic success, our fall musical, Annie, is almost completely sold out and has record student participation. Our first quarter has included many things for which we can be thankful!
There is no doubt our current senior class is providing exemplary leadership, and our academic focus is having a “high tide raises all ships” impact in areas outside classroom walls. Check out the graph below which considers data connecting the dots between extracurricular involvement and academic performance. Notice that students who participate in both an athletic and non-athletic extracurricular also set a high bar in their academics. Our “Top 10 in Wisconsin” ACT rank is being mirrored by success in other areas that contribute to our mission of growing students who learn at high levels and become positive contributors to society and our world.
