OMS Students Kick Off Worldwide “Hour of Code”

hour_of_code_16Middle school students dove right into coding activities to mark the beginning of the Hour of Code. HoC is a worldwide event encouraging students and teachers to take time to explore coding, sequencing, and programming opportunities. Students who might otherwise be reluctant to pursue computer science and “computational thinking” have the chance to try out a new language and new way of thinking by learning from game-like tutorials found on the Code.org website. Throughout the week various classes K-12 will participate in the Hour of Code.  JavaScript, Scratch blocks, Minecraft — just ask a middle schooler which was their favorite! Don’t forgot to try one yourself.
