Homecoming Week at OHS.

As I write this message, we are in our second day of Homecoming Week 2013.  As a staff, we are trying to strike a balance between having a fun-filled week of activities around the homecoming celebration and still maintain a productive week of learning in our classrooms.  We thought parents may find it helpful to have some specific information about the activities at the end of the week.

Schedule for Homecoming Day, Friday, October 4th.
Block 1: 7:25-8:25
Block 2: 8:30-9:25
Block 3: 9:30-10:25
10:30-11:30 Lunch and HR’s.
Block 4: 11:30-12:15 (Band and Dance team released at 12:00)

Parents should know that we plan to be productive in the classes before lunch, and we ask that all students who need to prepare for the parade, do so after 10:30.  This will allow us to do our progress reporting with students for the majority of the day and only one block–Block 4–will have compromised value in terms of productivity.

The parade is scheduled to start at 12:30, and the Pep Rally follows about 1:00 in the high school gym.  The football game will be at 7:00 pm on Kohlbeck Field v. LKC.  And the Homecoming Dance will be at the high school cafeteria on Saturday night from 8-12.

I would also like to remind parents that we will be progress reporting on Thursday and Friday of this week.  Each teacher will provide information in your student’s planner about their progress in class.  We would appreciate it if parents would ask their children to bring their planners home so you can see the progress reports, and sign them, so we know you are in the loop with this information.  We will ask the students to have their progress reports signed by their parents by the following Wednesday when we have homerooms.

If you have any questions about this information, please call me at 920-564-2346 x1001.

We hope your high school students have a great Homecoming Week.
