As the new school year quickly approaches, I want to share a few changes at OHS. Probably the most significant changes will be that we have four new teachers at the high school. Katy Hansen and Seth Carreno are our two new Social Studies teachers and Mrs. Hansen will be teaching Civics and World History, while Mr. Carreno will be teaching US History, AP US History, and Psychology. (We could still use a few more students in AP US History, so we would encourage anyone who may have an interest in that option to discuss it with your student.) Mrs. Hansen’s new room is in Mr. Keller’s former room and Mr. Carreno’s room is in Mr. Guy’s room. We also have two new math teachers. John Rentmeester will be teaching AP Calculus, Pre-calculus, and Algebra 2 from Mrs. Pribek’s former room. Kevin Telschow will be teaching Geometry and Stats/Probability in room 104.
Mr. Cole will be in his office on Wednesday and Thursday this week if any students need to make schedule chances. Making these changes prior to the start of the school year is very important to getting off to a good start. He also wanted all freshmen and their parents to know that he will be hosting a freshmen orientation session during our Open House on Wednesday, August 26th at 5:00 pm in the Multi-purpose room/Auditorium for anyone who is interested in attending.
The OHS staff looks forward to seeing many parents for our Open House—Brat, Burger, and Brownie Bash–on Wednesday from 3:30-6:30 pm.
Enjoy the last week of summer,
