Thanks again, OCEF

Good afternoon, Parents,

I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend. Walking the halls at school today, it is clear that many of our students enjoyed the sunny, warm weekend. It appears the majority of our students got just a little bit of a sunburn.

I would like to publicly thank the Oostburg Community Education Foundation (OCEF) for their support and funding of four Oostburg School District grant requests at their Board Meeting last Monday evening. OCEF will be funding the following projects and/or equipment this spring.

$1195 for CO2 car track to enhance Middle School science program–Scott Ring
$3000 for Middle School Engineering/Architecture Curriculum–Scott Ring
$800 4th grade Mentor Books for reading–Sally Prinsen
$722 for the Special Ed department for sensory items–Ashley TeBeest

OCEF accepts grant requests from teachers two times per year–fall and spring. Since 2005, they have funded over $220,000 in projects that improve the student experience or enhance student learning in our district. If you are wondering how you could support the work of OCEF in a rather painless way, we would encourage you to have a meal at Chili’s between now and the end of May, and a portion of your bill will be donated to OCEF. All you have to do is mention to your server that you are dining at Chili’s to support OCEF. Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to support our schools through OCEF in this way.

Reminder: HS Parents, your  students will be receiving their Third Quarter Report Cards at school today. Please ask them to share them with you.

Have a great week,
Scott
