I hope you have seen information come home about parent/teacher conference scheduling. You might think planning this far in advance is a bit premature, but parent/teacher conferences are very important to us, and we want to make sure you have enough advance notice to make it as much a priority as we do. Parent/teacher conferences allow us a face-to-face opportunity to discuss the progress of your child and to answer any pressing questions you might have about our instruction. It also gets you in our building to see the environment in which your child spends the majority of his/her day. If you have pressing questions about your child’s progress, please don’t wait until parent/teacher conferences to call us. Communication about your child’s learning is very important to us.
On the nights of parent/teacher conferences, we will also open up the computer lab, where our technology integration teachers and support personnel will be available to share information and answer any questions you might have about Infinite Campus Parent Portal, internet safety, how to access Friday Folders, how to follow us on Twitter, and any other technology questions you might have in relation to your child’s learning.
Just a reminder that Lifetouch will be here for Picture Retake Day on Monday, October 20. If you have found an error with your picture order or have questions, please contact our local Lifetouch office at firstname.lastname@example.org or (920) 968-0485.
Halloween is coming, and normally it’s hard for your dentist to get excited about that day because of all the candy your kids will eat. This year our school will again participate in Operation Gratitude’s Candy Give Back Program. Any extra candy donated will be shipped overseas to our courageous troops serving our country in the Middle East. In return, your child will learn about doing good things for others and may prevent a few cavities along the way. Bring your extra candy to school by November 11, and help to spread the word!
Also, please remember that next week Friday, October 24th is a teacher in-service day. I hope you and your family will enjoy beautiful weather for the long weekend.
