Our superpowers of this month are compassion and service. One of the best things we can teach our children is that it is not all about us. Recent tragic events remind us that we need each other, and we need to share ourselves and our blessings within our community and beyond. We’ve had opportunities to discuss this many times throughout the last few months, but our Pennies for Patients drive and our recent Souper Bowl drive has allowed us to put our words into actions. Our Pennies for Patients drive raised well over $2,000, and our soup drive currently has two large garbage cans filled with cans of soup. Thank you for supporting our efforts to serve others in our community.
You’ll be receiving report cards today. You may not be aware that we meet in grade level teams monthly to review specific student progress and discuss ways we can help students achieve their goals. Our discussions about increasing student learning are on-going, and we welcome your input as we work to figure out the best ways to support our students. After reviewing our winter benchmark and student learning objective scores, our students are on track to meet end-of-year goals. I have enjoyed celebrating with students who have worked really hard to not only get to their goal but to push even past it. The push isn’t over yet, and we invite you to help us keep students motivated to meet their goals. Next steps are critical in moving each student forward.
Only 2 weeks away until the referendum vote. Please contact us with any questions you might have, or if you would like a tour. Information can also be found on our website: http://oostburg.k12.wi.us/referendum/. Please remember to vote on February 16.
Today might just be our best attendance day yet this year. Today is Fun Fair! Our students are beyond excited to join the action this evening. The night is guaranteed to be filled with games, prizes, sugar, noise, and… a prize that might just be alive. I look forward to seeing all of you tonight.
Have a great weekend!
