Oostburg Destination Imagination Team goes GLOBAL!

An Oostburg School District Destination Imagination team is headed to Tennessee to compete in the international Global Destination Imagination Finals next month.

Ladies, Gents and Drama, a team of Oostburg Elementary School 4th Graders, placed 2nd in a field of 24 teams at the State Destination Imagination Tournament in Stevens Point on April 8th to earn them a spot at finals with other teams from around the world.

Destination Imagination is an educational nonprofit that teaches STEM principles to students through creative and collaborative problem solving challenges. Teams work together to develop a solution to open-ended challenges and present their solutions at tournaments.

This is the fourth year that this team has worked together in the Oostburg DI program and they are honored to represent our community at the competition.  They are looking forward to presenting their solution at Globals and enhancing their creativity and problem solving skills at the many learning opportunities available at the event.    

Ladies, Gents and Drama is managed by Cheryl Fuentes de Rehm and Andy Ramaker.  Team members include Jordin F., Kalli R., Savanna B., Addison T., Luis Z., McKayla R., and Jaida R..

A total of 8 Oostburg School District Di teams participated in the 2017 DI season.

The DI Global Finals will be held in Knoxville, Tennessee from May 24th to the 27th.
